Poached Figs, Apricots, and Cherries



Heat the apple juice in a Dutch oven with the brandy (if using) and the maple syrup.
Add the figs, apricots, and cherries.
Bring to a boil, cover, and gently simmer for 5 minutes.
Lift out the fruit with a slotted spoon and place in a salad bowl.
Bring the juice back to a boil and reduce to a thick syrup.
Pour the syrup over the fruit, add the fresh orange juice, and serve with vanilla ice cream, custard, creme fraiche, or soy cream.
