Deep-Dish Apple Streusel Dessert



Mix apples, sugar, water, raisins, tapioca and cinnamon in steam-jacketed kettle or large saucepot.
Bring to boil on medium heat, stirring frequently; cover.
Simmer 5 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Add lemon juice and vanilla; mix well.
Pour into 4 half hotel pans (or 1/3 hotel pan for trial recipe).
For Streusel Topping: Mix flour and sugar in bowl of electric mixer with fitted paddle attachment.
Add butter; beat on low speed 1 minute or until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle evenly over apple mixture.
Bake at 425F for 15 minutes or until topping is browned.
