Creamed Cauliflower And Peas Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 lg. cauliflower, (3 pkg. frzn)
- Salt
- 1 pkg (10 ounce.) frzn peas
- Lowfat milk
- 1/4 c. butter
- 3/4 c. onion, finely minced
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Directions
Cook cauliflower till tender and drain.Cook peas drain liquid and reserve adding lowfat milk to make 2 c.
. Set aside.
Saute/fry onion in butter.
Remove and stir in flour, 1/2 tsp.
salt, pepper and nutmeg.
Stir in liquid and bring to boiling.
In casserole combine peas, cauliflower and sauce.
Top with 1/4 c.
bread crumbs, which have been browned in 1 Tbsp.
melted butter.
Bake at 400 degrees covered 30 min uncovered 20 to 30 min.
Serves 6 to 8.
