Hearty Fish Chowder Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/4 c. butter
- 6 tbsp flour
- 1 envelope Lipton country vegetable soup dry mix
- 2 c. lowfat milk
- 1 pound thawed flounder">sole, or possibly flounder
- 1 pound shrimp, or possibly crab
- 1 c. sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
- Salt, pepper, and garlic to taste
Directions
Cook first 5 ingredients in large saucepan till thick, stirring constantly.Add in fish and cheese and let simmer till cooked.
Sprinkle with parsley before serving.
Makes 6-8 small servings.
Easy to double the recipe.
OPTIONAL: Add in peas or possibly mixed vegetables to chowder for "color.
