Butterscotch Cookies With Icing Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking pwdr
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 c. lowfat sour cream
- 2/3 c. nuts, optional
- 1/4 c. butter, no substitutes
- 2 c. powdered sugar
- 3 Tbsp boiling water
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
Directions
Cream shortening and sugar.Add in vanilla and Large eggs.
Sift together dry ingredients.
Then add in alternately with lowfat sour cream.
Add in nuts.
Use 1/2 c.
more flour if needed.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet.
Bake 10 min at 350 degrees.
Cold and frost.
Brown Butter Icing:Brown butter; pour over sugar, then add in water and vanilla.
Mix.
